Beardyfull
This week has been the most difficult by far. I’ve finished my side editing project and only work 2 1/2 days a week at the church. Keeping myself busy isn’t coming as easy as I wish it would. I’m struggling with the idea that I need to be making more money, but can't find the right part time job to do that.
I do really enjoy having the free time to clean my apartment every week, plan out meals, and take care of myself. However, as great as my mental health is doing, my bank account is slowly drifting into cardiac arrest. I can’t go near a store because I fear just looking at it will take $30 out. Don’t even get me started with Target... (hits head against palm.)
I wish I could tell you that within the week I’ve found the perfect plan and everything is working out. I wish I could say I’ve found something that is flexible enough to let me work 3 random days out of the week and give me enough money to feel like I can buy coffee creamer again. I can’t.
What I can say is that I’ve had a lot of time to think and pray. I’ve had the epiphany that I’m in a stretching season. I’ve honestly been in one since March. Before the idea of moving ever existed, it was all too easy for me. I had a great job, place to live, and money going into savings. I paid tithes without thinking about it. Now with very little, tithes mean a whole lot more. I’m truly living out the first few versus of Luke 21.
So, I’m just taking this season in and learning all I can from it. It’s opening my eyes and definitely humbling me. I’ll keep you updated on what happens next!

** Since I'm a member of Rocky Mountain Oils I figured out that I can refer friends and give 10% off your first order. You too can become a member for FREE and it honestly doesn't cost anything. It's called Club Oilty.. which I think is pretty clever. You just get points towards free oils when you buy things, refer friends, or have a birthday.

Paul has been wanting to grow his beard out for a while and he’s finally doing it. I decided to make him some beard oil to make it less itchy and hopefully come in fuller. He’s been using it for about a week and loves it! All ingredients have a purpose and together will help it grow easier.
Beard Oil
- 2 oz Amber dropper bottle (Dark glass keeps the oils fresh longer)
- 3 drops Tea Tree (Prevents infection/Keeps pores clean)
- 5 drops Cedarwood (Increases circulation/Smells manly)
- 5 drops Lavender (Soothes nerves)
- Fractionated Coconut Oil (Nourishes and heals skin)
Combine all Essential oils and fill the bottle up with coconut oil. Leave room at the top for the dropper to go in! No need to waste your oils.
*Rosemary increases blood circulation and promotes hair growth. I just didn’t want to add too many scents in together. You could substitute Rosemary in place of the Lavender.
*Sweet almond oil is better for this recipe because it has more nutritional value, but I already had coconut oil.
I originally started out with 3 drops of everything and Paul requested it be a bit stronger. Start out with less and add more ‘till you reach your preference. Keep in mind that the face is more sensitive and the oils should be more diluted.
*The standard dilution for daily face oils is 9 drops essential oil to 30 ml (1 oz.) carrier oil or lotion. Here is a handy dilution guide for your convenience.
