Eye Serum

I used to paint for fun a few years ago. I'm not Bob Ross or anything , I'd just make simple paintings for gifts and such. This week I felt the urge to start painting again. I went to Hobby Lobby and bought some canvases and a plant.. it made me happy. I can't share my painting with you because it's a gift for someone, so here's two that I made for my family a few years ago.

Also, big news! I just found out that Paul is an incredibly gifted artist. He particularly likes drawing and shading. Here is a dog meme that he randomly decided to to doodle. (Mind is blown)

I have such love for art and I'm so happy that Paul does too. We spent a good portion of Saturday just painting, drawing, and making music together. I quickly found it's one of my happiest places.

*To keep everyone updated, I do have a really cool job offer that came up this week. It's part time and is able to work around my current job. I'm starting next week and I'm actually really excited about it. I won't go into further detail on here, especially since I haven't started yet. I just wanted to share that so I could share the fun story behind it.

Paul and I were discussing what I should do for another job and if I actually needed to get one or even wanted to get one. In this discussion I made it clear that I didn't want to compromise my physical and mental happiness for some random job that would pay me minimum wage while working awful hours. I specifically mentioned that jobs are usually just thrown at me and when the right one comes I'll say yes. I understand that not actively pursuing a job when you need one is not the wisest decision. However, it's kind of been God's calling card in my life, so I stopped even thinking about a job after deciding that. About 2 days later I get this random job thrown at me and it feels like a gift!

I'm so thankful that Paul supports me in my decisions and we both know that God has our backs. I honestly just had to stop worrying about it and give it up to God. Cliché maybe, but so true.

Tip of the Week

I have these awful dark circles and bags under my eyes. I'm pretty sure they're hereditary, but could also be from previous stress. Regardless, I'm trying everything I can to get rid of them. I made this eye serum in hopes that it would help.

Eye Serum

Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Add all the essential oils to the roller bottler
  2. Fill the bottle about 90% with the vitamin E oil.
  3. Pop the roller ball back in.
  4. Shake and use under eyes every night and/or morning.
    • Use at least 2 hours before you leave the house. Lemon oil in prolonged sunlight will burn your skin.

I made this about a month ago, but wanted to use it for a while to see if it actually works. I absolutely love the smell and the fact that there isn't any "oily" oil in it. Vitamin E oil just soaks right in to your skin and leaves it feeling smooth and hydrated. After a couple of weeks Paul said he noticed the skin under my eyes getting lighter, but I was having a hard time telling the difference.

I've been going back and forth on whether I should post this or not since I wasn't seeing the result that I wanted. However, I forgot to take a picture before I started using it. I took one around the 2 week mark and then another one two weeks later. I wanted to be completely honest about the results so I took both pictures without makeup on and in the exact same position with the same lighting. To my surprise, my under-eyes are actually lighter! Now, I'm not going to say this is a fast process like I really wanted it to be, but it does help. I even blew my face up and made this ridiculous collage to prove it.

I also believe less stress, eating healthy, good sleep and other lifestyle choices affect these results. Either way, all the ingredients in this are great for rejuvenating your skin!
